"Archie began working fot the L. E. & W. Railroad as a car repairman at the early age of 19. He continued at this work until he retired in 1961. Archie was a great sportsman, and loves the outdoors. Hunting and fishing are his favorite sports and hobbies. He has take several trips to Canada to hunt and fish. Neither of the three sons eve really acquired this liking for these sports. In 1958 while duck hunting, he suffered a severs heart attack, and the doctors said he would have to limit the hunting and fishing activities. In the summer of 1965 he kept an account of the fish he caught, which numbered over 1000, all caught in Tipton and adjoining counties. Archie and Ruby have made several trips to Los Angeles, California to visit relatives there and in 1967 they flew for the first time to San Diego, California to visit their son Walter. While there, Walter entertained them, Walter Marker and Ruth (Taylor) Smith at his home. This was the first time the three cousin had all been together in over 60 years. Archie and Ruby now live (1969) in their mobile home at 316 and one half West Adams Street in Tipton, (Tipton County), Indiana. On July 29, 1966 they celebrated their 50th Golden wedding anniversary with a party in Tipton Park with quite a large number of friends and relatives in attendance. They hope that some day, one of their grandsons will have a son named Archibald Elsworth Small The Fourth."
