2. Calvin W.² Skinner (Nathaniel¹) (#51) was born in Henry County, IN on April 16, 1843. Calvin died on March 17, 1910 in Muncie, Delaware County, IN, at age 66. His body was interred in the Beech Grove Cemetery Section B, Lot 59 on March 17, 1910 in Muncie, Delaware County, IN.⁽¹²⁾ The gravestone reads: "Calvin Skinner, Co. F., 36 IND INF."

He married Sophia Catherine Clevenger on August 6, 1868 in Muncie, Delaware County, IN.⁽¹³⁾ (Sophia Catherine Clevenger is #52.) Sophia was born on April 27, 1848 in Henry County, IN.⁽¹⁴⁾ All of the James and Mary Clevenger children claimed birth in Delaware County, but other records indicate birth in Henry County. In any event, the parents lived almost adjacent to the line between the two counties. Sophia was the daughter of James R. Clevenger and Mary M. Acker.

Sophia died on October 13, 1909 in Muncie, Delaware County, IN, at age 61. Her body was interred in the Beech Grove Cemetery Section B, Lot 77 on October 1909 in Muncie, Delaware County, IN.⁽¹⁵⁾ The gravestone reads: "Mother, Sophia C. Skinner, 1848-1909."

She was listed as a household member of Calvin W. Skinner's house in the Census of 1870 in Monroe Township, Delaware County, IN.⁽¹⁶⁾ She was listed as Calvin W. Skinner's wife in the 1880 Census, in Harrison Township, Delaware County, IN.⁽¹⁷⁾ Sophia, as Calvin W. Skinner's wife, resided with him 1601 S. Penn St, in Muncie, Delaware County, IN on June 6, 1907.⁽¹⁸⁾

Calvin served in the military in 1863.⁽¹⁹⁾ In the Census of 1870, Calvin was listed as a head of household in Monroe Township, Delaware County, IN.⁽²⁰⁾ In the 1880 Census, Calvin was listed as a head of household on June 29, 1880 in Harrison Township, Delaware County, IN.⁽²¹⁾ Calvin was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census in Muncie, Delaware County, IN.⁽²²⁾ The address was 1601 Penn Street.

He resided 1601 S. Penn St, in Muncie, Delaware County, IN on June 6, 1907.⁽²³⁾

Calvin W. Skinner and Sophia Catherine Clevenger had the following children:

11 i. James William³ Skinner (#936) was born in IN about 1869. Willie died before 1880 in Delaware County, IN, at age unknown.⁽²⁴⁾ He was listed as a household member of Calvin W. Skinner's house in the Census of 1870 in Monroe Township, Delaware County, IN.⁽²⁵⁾

+ 12 ii. John Walter Skinner was born on November 22, 1870.

+ 13 iii. Adda B. Skinner was born in 1872.

+ 14 iv. Charles Franklin Skinner was born on February 27, 1874.

+ 15 v. Mary E. Skinner was born on December 27, 1878.

+ 16 vi. Sarah Lavina Skinner was born on November 22, 1880.

17 vii. Jennie May Skinner (#602) was born in Muncie, Delaware County, IN on April 7, 1884. Jennie died before March 17, 1910 at age 25.

+ 18 viii. Dellard Carl Skinner was born on April 21, 1886.

19 ix. Winfred Skinner (#54) was born est 1900. Winfred died in 1913 at age 13. His body was interred in the Beech Grove Cemetery in 1913 in Muncie, Delaware County, IN.
