As we walked into Battery Park on our way to visit the State of Liberty and Ellis Island I was struck by this odd-looking structure. It once stood in a plaza between the World Trace Center towers as a perfect sphere. After 9/11 the damaged sphere was dismanted into its components and stored at Kennedy Airport. Following a documentary film about it, it was relocated to Battery Park with an eternal flame as a memorial. Wow!
